I started writing a story when I was 14 or so, and finished it when I was 17. It was almost 200 pages long, and I need to get around to publishing it. But, naturally, I want pictures! My sister was going to design a cover for me, but I've been waiting for that for about 2 years now ;)

I'd seen a lot of people doing purely stock-photo based pictures. I've always been one for doing my own work, but I stumbled across the stock of and I just had to use some! Credit goes to him for the figures.

For the jewel:

Anyhoo! Setting the scene:

The prince of Sentier sets off on a journey for his father to find the stolen crown jewel, unaware that his best friend has had it the entire time. His friend being the dark haired peasant with shady-ties. Well, formerly. He means well. He's just too terrified to reveal opening that he has stolen the crown jewel, as he meant to give it back - it was for a dare. Especially since he is sure that one of the others the Prince insists on bringing along means to betray the Prince. Though he begins to believe he is wrong, as the man shows himself to be loyal, helpful, and a friend to the prince, in the end he is indeed a traitor. He intends to frame the peasant for killing the Prince, return to the King with the sorry news and work himself into a spot where he can marry the prince's sister and eventually become King himself.

Here is the scene right where the prince has died. As the peasant leaned over him, the jewel swung out of his shirt on it's chain, a great last sight, eh? The peasant tried to press it into the prince's hands, in apology. When it was placed in the prince's palm, wet with his own blood, the jewel changed from a sapphire to a ruby. The peasant took up the prince's sword, here he is praying, or apologizing, perhaps. He knew that the traitor was going to kill him now.

And to find out what happens next, you'll just have to read it, if I ever publish it!

There are a lot of pictures from this story on my old account but they are, obviously, old:
